AADE Changes Name to AADB
In October, the General
Assembly of the American Association of Dental Examiners met and
changed their name to the American Association of Dental Boards.
The American Association of Dental Examiners, founded in 1883, is
composed of state dental boards, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico
and the Virgin Islands, as well as both past and present members of
those boards, board administrators and board attorneys. The AADE
focuses on licensure issues and the sharing of information. The AADE
and its member boards seek first to protect the public. One of the
problems which challenges state boards of dentistry is assuring the
public that dental practitioners currently licensed in their state, and
practitioners who move from state to state, practice in accordance with
state dental practice acts. More information about the association can be found at www.dentalboards.org.
